Gareth Pugh for McQueen? WHAT?!

I like Gareth and everything, but I don't think so he is the perfect choice for the next creative director at McQueen's house. His creations are too dark and futuristic - sometimes boring. Just take a look at his latest collection, I see some McQueen-ish elements and shapes, but nothing more.My list of the possible designers to create at McQueen:
- John Galliano - his latest collection says it all.
- Lady GaGa - weird choice I know, but I'm sure lots of wonderful ideas would pop out her mind.
- Jean Paul Gaultier - only if he sometimes forgets the asian looks 'n fur caps...
- Peter Dundas - Pucci's creative director. He'd be able to draw fab patterns.
- Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren - Yes. Perfect. My favorites.
- Angela Missoni - You know, with keeping the patterns and throwing out the knits. Lol.

I hope the Gucci group will change mind about Gareth.

PS. Get ready for tomorrow - the new collection will be out.

Simple elegance

Sonia Rykiel
It's not as colorful as before because Natalie Rykiel designed it. No probs - it's still adorable. Every outfit looks so cute and comfortable, will be a must-have for next season!
John Galliano
He kills me. Really. How can something be as wonderful as these creations?
Givenchy
Umm... what the hell are those on the hands? I bet gloves with clutches built in? Maybe. But they're cool. Anyway nothing new.
Karl Lagerfeld
I fell asleep while checking the looks. Karl, what happened?
Lanvin
Gorgeous, amazing, pretty, wonderful, beautiful, elegant, classic. And some of the dresses are so well-detailed! Congrats, Elbaz.

Dsquared2 - special report

One of my readers requested a post about Dsquared2's latest collection. I know I didn't write about it, because... well, I was really disappointed of the menswear show because Bill Kaulitz as the opener was just an unbelievably bad choice. Sorry, own opinion. But let's turn back to the womenswear part. I must say, this collection was incredible unlike the other. Scary silhouettes with red latex 'n lots of leather everywhere. How about the heels? Backbones! Awesome idea.

Dark or light, maybe bright?

Sharon Wauchob
Another LBD lover newcomer.
Balenciaga
I don't really like Balenciaga somehow, because of the too bold colors together or the collection's outfits' random shapes, I don't know. There were 3-4 pieces from every outfit, the only difference was the color.
But hey, what's up with the shoes? They are cool.
Rick Owens
Little dark sibling of Balenciaga. On the 1st model that... vest looks like a blanket. The other looks are okay, very futuristic.
Haider Ackermann
Sibling of Owens. The layering here is scary yet amazing! Love love. And I guess Darth Vader's wife would be wearing the last creation. Haha!
Tsumori Chisato
After checking lots of boring collections this was very eye-catching. I thought Chisato is a newcomer, but not, her first collection released in 2005, since then she's done nothing. Now she's back with well detailed and hilarious designs. I'm glad!
Nina Ricci
That floral dress is so so so adorable!
Jean Paul Gaultier
I still see a little touch of his latest couture show I adore. The collection is unique, inspired by Morocco, Russia and India.

Last shows of Milan

Francesco Scognamiglio
What a name... but the clothes are gorgeous.
Pucci
Séquins, séquins, séquins - they are officially the signature part of Pucci. Yesss.
Dolce & Gabbana
Well... nothing new again. Really. Except...
... glamorous iPhone holders and gold-tone earphones.
Missoni
Brand new interesting patterns and colorblocks. Sometimes paired with freaky red framed sunglasses.

Extravagance

It's not an everyday happening that we see the designers themselves styling during their show. Viktor and Rolf did it again with they awesome imagination, the legendary oversized coats are huger than ever and now they are transformable as seen on the last model.
Mind-blowing creations, I must say.

The Idol that always takes the spotlight

BALMAIN
Our all-time favorite is back with new pieces we've never seen before at the house, like oversized coats (not surprising this season, you know what I mean) and... suit pants? Is Decarnin's motto 'bad girls go good' from now? Probably. I guess skinny jeans will go out of fashion soon - unfortunately. But shoulder pads 'n lace-up boots are still in. And shiny/glittering fabrics. Séquins.

Oh those bests!

Moschino
The Best... Oh my god... I'm shocked. I see myself becoming a Moschino addict from day to day.
Etro
Wow, cool! R-etro neon colors and fab detailing.
Bottega Veneta
Not a signature B.V. collection, but it's gorgeous. I see true must-have pieces.
Salvatore Ferragamo
Jumpsuits combined with belts, shorts with coats, and suede. So Chic!
Roberto Cavalli
What a layering!!! Every single part of the outfits are fabulous.
